Enchantment - 25 damage to stamina and magicka; fills soul gem if target dies within 3 seconds of the hit; What Makes the Mace of Molag Bal Awesome. Ability to fill empty soul gems; Most powerful unique mace in the game (base damage) House of Horrors. Speak to Tyranus and follow him into the basement of the abandoned house. Soul gems are an essential component to successfully imbuing magical properties to an item or weapon in a process called Enchanting. The quality of the soul gem affects the potency of the resulting enchantment. Filled soul gems can be found throughout the world, but can also be created through the spellSoul Trap.
@Atlas: I thought it was cool because human souls were all worth the same, and you could use any rank soul gem, so you could turn a bunch of petty gems into basically a bunch of grand gems. By the time I really got into item enchanting on my most used character, though, I already had Azura's Star, was about level 30, and had easily enough gold from a single looting run to buy all the Grands that I wanted, and it was always a hassle to me to get there at a time when the altars were actually functioning.
Refined Soul Gems (craftable improved soul gems) - posted in Skyrim Mod Requests: The Azuras Star Has always been one of my favorite items and I always hated that there is only one. The idea is to basically allow the crafting (though by no means easily) of reusable soul gems of every kind (and possibly higher) through crafting. Making this stuff, the stuff here is just what I could come up. You find them in heaps of dungeons, or you could buy them off of court wizards. Illanata's deep, IIRC, has plenty of black soul gems you could loot.
Does Azura's Star in Skyrim work in the same was as it did in Oblivion? Is it basically a re-useable grand soul gem? Azura's Star was easily the best Daedric artifact, and the fact that the story quest mission where you have to destroy a Daedric artifact recommends you go across the Valus Mountains to Azura's Shrine and bring back the Star to destroy it is bullshit. Much rather destroy the Wabbajack; that shit was funny for like five minutes. Also, for those who don't know, in Oblivion there were specific Necromancer's Altars around the world, and during certains days of the month you would see a purple light shining down onto the altar. If you put a soul gem into the altar while the light is shining upon it, the soul gem will be transformed into a black soul gem. The event happened like a couple of times a month, and it was fucking awesome. @mandude: I'd respectfully disagree with the assertion that there are more human enemies in this.
There were over 200 dungeons in Oblivion, and shit tons of bandit and marauder hideouts, plus camps, Mythic Dawn assassins in every town, highwaymen and others just in random spots along the roads, etc. Because most people didn't go to a ton of non-quest dungeons in Oblivion, not many would realize it, but there was a lot more to that world than what the quests brought you to. I spent 200 hours in Oblivion and still didn't get to explore every corner. Dude in Winterhold Mage's Guild thingy is also a fence for the Thief's Guild. Forgot his name.
Skyrim Black Soul Gem Code
Desktop 3d for mac. Pretty sure he's an elf; either dunmer or high. You can probably tell if it's him because he has the typical 'evil' voice. Anyway, if you're in the Thieve's Guild and you talk to him, he'll offer his services if you meet him in his room. And - because I don't see anyone ever mentioning this - you can reset any and all shopkeepers' inventories simply by saving, closing the game, then opening it back up. You gotta completely exit the game, though.
In need of some soul gems to recharge your enchanted weapons but not sure how to get the souls into them? Let me show you how!Step 1)Get empty soul gems to fill. You'll need the gems to fill up with souls before you can even get started. You'll find these just about anywhere in your travels, they are literally all over the place. You don't need to go out and find them at all if you have the money to just buy them. Any shopkeeper who deals in magical or alchemical ingredients will stock up on these as well. Keep in mind, you can fill larger soul gems with smaller souls. If you are going to go out and try to farm a lot of smaller souls, don't bring any bigger soul gems or you'll fill those up by accident too.
Step 2)Get a soul trapping weapon, or the soul trap spell. This spell can be found from many merchants who sell spells, it is fairly common so if they don't have it in stock when you first go see them, wait a day or two and try again. If you are looking to farm a large number of souls a little easier though, get a weapon that can trap them instead. These can sometimes be seen sold in shops, or you can enchant one yourself. Once you are armed with either of these, head out to find animals to steal the souls from.
Soul Gems are special items in Elder Scrolls Online that allow to trap souls of enemies. If you played previous TES games you know that these items are used for charging magical weapons. In ESO they are also used for this. But there is one extra way of usage: you can use them for resurrecting yourself after death or for resurrecting your allies.
There are two types of Soul Gems in ESO: empty and full. Full contains someone's soul, while empty does not. If it is full, its title is written with green. Only full gems can be used for resurrecting or charging weapons.
Here is full list of Soul Gems in Elder Scrolls Online:
- Petty - Trap Level 1-9 Souls
- Minor - Trap Level 10-19 Souls
- Lesser - Trap Level 20-29 Souls
- Common - Trap Level 30-39 Souls
- Greater - Trap Level 40-49 Souls
- Grand - Level 50 or better Souls
- Leveled - Soul of Any Level
- Crown - Trap any level soul and fully charge weapon of any level
Where to Take?
Empty Grand Soul Gems
There are different weapons to obtain gems. The easiest way is to visit Mages Guild and purchase them there. The cost of empty gems is not high, while full usually cost a lot.
If you don't want to spend your money, visit different public dungeons and world bosses. Every boss will reward you with a gem after you kill him. They usually drop one empty and one filled gem.
Trapping Souls
Trapping Soul is the only way to transform your empty gem into full. First of all make sure that you have an empty gem in your inventory. If there are no empty gems you will not be able to trap the soul. There are several ways to capture soul of the enemy:
- Use special skill from Soul Magic skill line called Soul Trap. This skill is DoT that deals damage and captures the soul if enemy dies while this spell is active. If the enemy dies after the effect of spell ends, there will be no result. This is the best way to fill soul gems and it works very good.
- Use Soul Lock passive from Soul Magic skill line. This passive adds a small probability to capture energy of the soul every time you kill enemy with weapons (not with magic). That's pretty nice passive because it will sometimes fill your empty gems.
Charging Weapon
Every enchanted weapon has special effects. For example it deals frost or flame damage, grants damage shield and so on. These effects only work if the weapon is charged. There is a special scale that shows how many 'magicka' is left inside that particular weapon. If there is no power, extra effects will not work.
All you need to charge the weapon is to have a filled soul gem. Right click on the weapon, select 'Charge' from dropdown menu and you will see following window:
Different gems can provide your weapon with different amount of power. If you have high level weapon Petty and Lesser gems are useless because they will not give enough power. By using them on high level weapon, you will be able to charge only about 5% of the total weapon's pool.
High level weapon require Greater or Grand types. They will charge the pool fully and you will be able to use the weapon without recharging for relatively long time.
